About The Project:
As a result of the devastation in Florida from Hurricane Irma in 2017, property and casualty insurance companies experienced a sharp increase in the number of claims being reported.
During this time, a rapidly expanding player in the Property/Casualty insurance space was hit particularly hard due to the influx of inquiries and claims being requested throughout the state. In order to meet the increased demand, the client needed to restructure their internal teams with professionals that could handle insurance claims issues as they arose.
Having made successful placements for their legal team in the past, the client reached out to Tandym Group's office in Florida, to provide a timely staffing solution for their open roles.
The Challenge:
Impact Of Severe Weather: With Hurricane Irma making landfall in Florida unexpectedly, the client was extremely understaffed to handle calls in Fort Lauderdale, which impacted their ability to assist customers in a timely fashion.
High-Volume: The client needed to secure 30 Customer Service Representatives with strong communication skills to handle the influx of claims calls, in addition to 10 Claims Examiners with experience as Residential Property Claims experts and possession of a 6-20 All-Lines Adjuster license.
The Results:
Tandym Group’s Florida office closed due to safety concerns and many of the recruiters having evacuated, our entire team of recruiters were all hands on deck working remotely. A team of 6 recruiters situated throughout surrounding states (i.e., Indiana, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia), sourced, screened, and interviewed candidates to determine if they were the right fit.
Due to the severity of the weather, our recruiters relied heavily on phone interviews to screen candidates for the appropriate roles. Customer Service Reps were evaluated based on how well they responded to a variety of situational questions when dealing with insurance claims and educating customers on their policies.
To source for experienced Claims Examiners with a 6-20 All-Lines Adjuster license, our recruiters utilized a list of all licensed professionals in the state of Florida. Filtering through 25,000 licensed professionals, we pinpointed the cities in closest proximity to the client and identified candidates who possessed the right amount of experience in those areas.
Over the course of two weeks, the client hired a total of 23 Customer Service Representatives and 6 Claims Examiners through our efforts. Although the client worked with a number of other staffing firms for this project, Tandym Group proved to be the most responsive in helping to get their teams staffed with little ramp up time. We provided them with additional candidate support and conflict resolution, and remain one of their go-to staffing firms in Florida.
Notable Data:
2 Weeks > 72% Candidate Acceptance Rate > 75% Of Open Roles Filled
